M800 is a big car for a small second class family. Its fuel economy great and so is monthly budget for transport.I have been into car driving many cars of top end on these Indian roads. Naturally I was reluctant to take the wheel behind M800. In recent days I incidentally I got a M800 1993 model for Rs.40, 000 which was in very condition and ready to roll. On my 1st go I ran into 400 kms non stop and found that this small car is good on rural roads which are too unpredictable.
With greater confidence I went for a long drive in heavy rains and this little car to my surprise kept phase with top ends.Ha..ha...with no road side waiting for Mechs..
This car have already clocked 4000km with very pretty must believe 19 Kms/ltr in city and 22.5kms/Ltr on long drive with cruising speed 55 to 65 Kms/hr.
This car is very silent, often confuses to know the engine is off or running.Inmates can hear the wobbling sound in petrol tank but not the engine sound.May be its due to its weight.
There where days I never went near M800, today I just like the car.Given the conditions and limitations this a big car for a small 2nd class family.
Let me tell clearly that this was seatings where rebuilt to give maximum comfort by its previous owner (thanks to Him) hence my aged parents are happy on their long journeys too.Since I drive this car in rural segment, I am not worried about its fixing issues since it is a carb model and is easy to fix (economically too).
Im writing this review on the moral that even a 2nd hand car can deliver wonders if properly taken care.
One of my frnds (most of them are auto crazy ppl) tried to match the silence of my car with his new car..but failed like many others have.
I really thank its prevous owner for its present condition (silent as electric car).
It has never pinched my pocket in any terms.
Now there is news that M800 will be replaced....
As an engg my only verdict is "Looks can match but not the performance".
Happy driving M800...
God loves U all...
