I bought my first car A-Star Zxi (optional) a month back and I would say it was one of the best decision ever made. Firstly let me appreciate my dealer "KTL Pvt Ltd." Agra who arranged the delivery of my car (UP 80 CP 7818) within 10 days, as we all know this is very uncommon car in India and is not easily available especially the top variant
This is my personal experience after doing research for nearly 2 months on cars, never ever go for advises, advises leads to confusion, its better go to showroom, take a test drive and get an idea, before buying car always make sure about after sales service, spare parts availability and re-sale value. After considering the above factors, I zeroed myself to Honda, Maruti, Toyota & Hyundai
After reading reviews, taking test drive of Brio, Liva, i10, Beat, I finalized A-Star Zxi (optional), I wanted a car which is easy to drive, sporty look, easy to maneuver in city, low maintenance cost and lil uncommon on Indian roads
One of the biggest reason which attracted A-Star was value for money. Guyz 5, 19, 000 (On Road) you are getting top variant loaded with ABS & airbags. No other automobile maker can provide you all these features at such a jaw dropping price.
Now after driving odd 1300km this is what I feel about the car:
PROS: Ride quality, beige & black interiors, ground clearance, mileage, sturdiness & looks.
CONS: Lack of steering mounted audio controls, adjustable steering, less rear space.
If you are a bachelor and you are planning to buy a hatchback this one is for you, if you want to have something different from regular stuff on road, Go for A-star, you would never regret on your decision. Its a hassle free drive and with ABS & airbags you are very much safe inside your cockpit.
Some facts about A-star:
1) A-Star is the only car of Maruti which is sold more around the globe when compared to Indian sales.
2) Only car which meets Euro 5 norms in India.
3) Most fuel efficient car - New Zealand.
4) Second most environment friendly car - Germany.
5) Auto car & top gear - Small car of the year 2009.
NOTE: If you are planning to buy a A-Star people would criticize your decision for sure, but don’t go by what people says, go by who drives A-star.
You can love it, you can hate it but you can’t ignore it.
