Good things first A-star is a good looking car, but thats it! My problem with A-STAR is that it has extremely small boot space and equally small rear seat space. On test driving I found no difference as compared to Alto or 800, infact the pickup of Alto is much-much better.
I strongly feel that Alto VXI would have been a much better option. In similar price range there are much better options available in market in Santro would be a superior choice.
I feel if a person is planning to buy a good small car then Swift would be a better option, costing just few extra bucks. Moreover I feel since Maruti is planning to launch Splash there was no need to launch A-Star. An upgradation of Alto would have been a better choice and would have covered all the segements in low to medium range.
With increasing competion I feel if Maruti has to maintain a lead in market it will have to have a proper planning for new launchs. Out doing competion by launch new products is not going to help the company in long run. Each new product should have sometjing new or added value for consumer to feel confident.
Personally for me A-Star dosen’t work.
