I bought the A-Star a year back for my wife .but it was sparingly used as I already have a Royal Enfield electra(an awesome bike!) which we normally used to cruise on the highway. A-Star was used by my wife only for commuting from my home to office, a distance of just 10 kms. But last Dec, we got the chance to really test the road worthiness of the A-Star when we did a 1800 km run from Hyd-Pune-Mahabaleshwar-Mumbai and then Mumbai-Hyderabad.
Being a bullet rider, I initially had reservation about using the A-star for covering such a great distance.but boy was I wrong! To say the least.I was stunned to see its performance once we were on the highway. Even at speed in excess of 130km, the car was rock solid. It gave a consistent mileage of 20km/lt consistently. Though equipped with a 1000 cc engine making 67 ponies, the pickup was amazing and I never faced any difficulty overtaking other bigger cars. The steering was precise and there was no roll-on felt even at high speed.
Pros: Superb pickup, performance oriented engine, great handling, awesome fuel economy, a great looker(though there are other who may not like its looks.all agree that its looks is unique and refreshing!) and is a great car to drive on the highway.
Cons: Seating space is a bit constrained in the rear, dashboard is placed a bit high(though I had difficulties initially, I have got used to it very quickly), interiors should be in beige color as it helps to liven up the inside of the cabin
All in all, it is best small car you can safely put your money on.a great buy which you will never ever regrest in life:)
