I had gone through all the reviews placed in mouthshut.com before purchasing my maruti alto lxi version. I had the following cars in mind, Santro, Alto, Wagon R and Tata Indica.
I had gone through the analysis of all these cars, on the basis of Comfort, Features, Looks and mileage. One thing I did not mind to see is Dealer Satisfaction. I got everything what I needed in Alto Lxi, which came with lesser price.
I found that it lacked only the following, Boot space for rear passengers, Luggage Space and noisy AC fan when kept FULL Speed. Though it is 800 cc engine, this one is very stable engine, noiseless performance and is pretty good & reliable. I would say hats off to this engine. Bcos u cannot presume that 800cc is less powered or is an underdog. I really dont understand why people need a high CC engines, Are they going for a Car Race or Formula one race. Moreover I found that this car has good mileage, convincible looks, Compact, noiseless Engine, Cheaper Price than Any other Car. Easier and cheaper Service/maintenance. Driving Comfort is not any bad comparative to Santro, Accent or Wagan R. I feel not much differences among these. All these had almost the same Engine Idling .
I thing that really bothered is Accessories are very minimal provided with this Car, Only Basic accessories like mud flap, Dicky Mat, Foot Mat And steering Grip has been offered to me. So when taking into account of Body Colour Bumper, Door Beading, Under Coating Chasis, Bumper Guard, Power Windows with center Locking system, Fog Light takes the price of the Car gets higher or Almost the same as the price of the Other Cars. However this has to really checked if Maruti provides Cheaper Car with Less accessories. I heard from others that accessories are more costlier in other brands like Hyundai, Fiat, Indica (which is worthless as it had noisy Engine.) and other brands.
For an executive with small family this car is most suitable. Easy driving and requires less parking space, Comfort driving and cheaper maintenance. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants car at cheaper price, reliable with good resale value. At the end of the day, you will feel Value for Money we spent on this. My Advice prefer buying a mettalic color and do a teflon coating which would prevent the car color from scratches and keeps the shining alive for years.
