Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 LXi

Hi,

I have a brand new ALTO LXi which I purchased on December 2005. It was a really good decision I made. I had Santro in my mind, but then I went for an Alto. For the price range of 3.5 Lakhs in December, Alto was on the cheapest cars with all add ons like power steering, power brakes and a good Ac.

The good part of Alto is:

1. Power steering is really good.

   
   




2. Ac is good.

   
   




3. Good for city drives and parking is very easy.

   
   




4. Gr8 Mileage.

   
   




5. Better boot space compared to a Maruthi 800.

   
   




6. More stable than 800 during speed drives and turns.

   
   




7. Good customer and after sales service.

   
   




8. Cheap in maintenance.

   
   




9. Good looking than its siblings 800 and Zen. More sexy if you put alloy wheels.

   
   

10 Good breaks.

The bad part of Alto is:

1. Cramped interiors.

   
   




2. Power not that efficient while using Ac.

   
   




3. Gear shift should have been a bit smoother.

   
   

I have a Tata indica also. Compared to an Indica, driving an Alto is more easy and comfortable. But space wise Indica is always ahead. But again comparing the maintenance and service, Alto is always a good decision.

I would recommend Alto for small families who take city drives more often. Good car in its segment.
