Alto, the best car in it’s segment. It’s a worth deal at a price of 3 Lacs. I purchased Lxi version around two months ago. Prior to its purchase, I had gone thru the bad reviews as well as good ones written on MS about it. I have not driven many cars, nor do I have much experience of driving. You can say I am a novice in driving. I had a limitation for budget and also wanted a fuel efficient car. So, I decided to go for it. And now I must say, it was indeed a good decision.
Obviously, you can’t get the facilities provided by a big budget car in a small car’s price. So, a little less space and even little lesser comfort shouldn’t bar you for going for an Alto.
Apart from good AC performance, stunning looks, low cost, the best thing is it’s mileage. Even before its first service, it’s given a mileage of 17 on highway with AC and 18 without AC. I expect it to grow more after a couple of services.
Ac cooling is very effective. Even the environment inside the car gets very cool at it’s third level and you even need to lower it down (sometimes to the first level). But it’s blower has a high annoying noise, specially at its highest level.
The next thing is it’s looks. Since when Alto had its new ’avtaar’ with improved head ’n tail lights, its looks have improved a lot. Earlier I didn’t like Alto’s looks, but after it got it’s new shape, it’s very much appealing now.
All in all, it’s a very good car, specially for those who wish to go for a santro or indica as their first car. I will suggest go for Alto. It could have been much better if there was an upper model with inbuilt center locking system and power windows.
