I am one of not so prideful owner of MARUTHI ALTO LXI 2006 Caribbean blue model. Today during early morning hours my car SONY XPLOD speakers were stolen. My pioneer stereo was spared when my father heard the car beep and alerted me. Though my car had a security system that has sensitivity for all the four doors and impact sensitivity the thief gained entry into my car through the rear glass. The Rear glass in maruthi is every easy to remove, just slide the knife on the beading cut it through, remove the beading slowly and take the glass panel out –it’s that simple.
The thief then took his time to slowly unscrew the speaker and moved towards the pioneers stereo when my piranha Security system alerted. This is a major design flaw in Maruthi Alto security system. This car is the ideal target for car thief.
I took my car to Maruthi Service Master , Ikkaduthangal Chennai , the customer care personnel responded bluntly saying that this is a new kind of theft in maruthi alto and their is no way one can protect from such theft. What an irresponsible reply from a leading car company service executive. Car thief you have your win way….!!!!
I would like to alert all maruthi ALTO loyal customers to be alert and future customer to think twice before buying Maruthi Alto. Maruthi Alto has no security even after installing a security system. Unlike other cars maruthi alto rear window has an external beading which is convenient for the car burglars. Cars that has glass pasted on the rear are difficult to remove, even when attempted to remove it can be alerted by the installed impact sensing security systems .Do check what kind of rear glass panels your car has and decide wisely. With so many wider options available in car market why buy a car that has no security ….!!! Think Twice….!!!!
