I have driven 780 Kms of my new cute Maruti Alto LXi. It cost me 3 lakhs on road without any additional accessories. I spent 30k for Pioneer Music System and Speakers, Front Power Windows, Central Locking with Remote, Seat Covers and Floor Mat. For 3.3 lakhs it is a wonderful first car to buy. Mileage over 10 Kms per litre with AC on always, comfortable for 4 adults, easy to park are the Pros.
The Cons I have seen so far is drop in pickup with AC on..If I have to overtake a vehicle going over 80 Kms per hour I need to switch off my AC, overtake the vehicle and switch on the AC again. Otherwise there is no other complaint about the car. As, I already knew about this before I bought the vehicle, I had no surprises.
But, people looking for just performance not cost, please think of buying Alto K10. Otherwise without AC on, I was able to easily touch 100 Kms per hour in few seconds. The mileage is excellent. I have no ergonomic issues driving for hours. Small turning radius with inbuilt power steering is a great feature. Tubeless tyres and fog lamps add more value to the car.
Just go for it if you are a first car buyer.. it is great value for what you pay !
One note about the dealer - Popular. Excellent service, great customer relationship, don’t buy anywhere else if you have a popular showroom in your city.
I have traveled in many luxury cars but the AC in Alto is the best I have seen so far, it cools quickly because of its built.
