Maruti Suzuki Alto was launched on in the Indian local market on Sept. 2000. It was best selling hatchback in India since 2006, it is the largest selling car & crossed 1 million production unit in 2008 & becomes third largest maruti model to cross million mark in India after Maruti 800 & Maruti Omini.
But if we talking about present market situation, people are ignoring Alto because of its commonness & contineously upgrading car. Now customer wants enough space being with feature loaded hatchback against too short cars.
In the sense compitition in this segment we observed a big war between automobile companies and already Renault Kwid & Hyundai i10 come forward one step ahead Maruti Suzuki in todays market share. Maruti Suzuki must be concentrate on Celerio by shutting down Alto for strategies over to hold position & market share of compact hatchback.
