We all know the Alto
1.Best in mileage.
2.Ideal for a city driving conditions
- No parking problems.
Let me share some thing else...
You put a higher watt bulb and a good music systems( no amp - just good speakers)..be ready to get your battery replaced just after an year (cos the battery would be on a one year warranty).
Not sure where is the problem - 1 yrs 6 months, 24k Kms riding (single driven), clutch had to get replaced. response from maruti service centre -- this is natural and we dont have any control over it. The part has failed due to not skillfull driving (half clutch). This was shocking as this was my third car and never had problems in my earlier Indigo and Maruti 1000.
Open door knobs - the cheapest of quality. Within an year..they have gone faulty and twice had to go to the Service Centre to get them rectified for different doors. reason this was due to rain. I have a underground parking, hence the question of this failing due to rain does not occur. Again cheap quality. The response from Maruti Service Centres is again something different (not sharing here)
Couple of good things.
not a single puncture (all 5 tyres intact), may be my good luck.
For all the above problems -- repairs were cheap..not costly.
Car is very stable in highways but not recommended (try this out -- park it on the highway or drive at ~40-60 kms and let a volvo pass you at high speed. Let me know how you feel inside the Alto...................
Even a 6 foot hunk can slide in smoothly.
My ratings: A good car for a small family.
