I purchased a Maruti Alto from Popular Vehicles, Anna Nagar, Chennai on April 13th 2006. I have no issues with the vehicle performance and fuel efficiency. My problem is with maintaining cost incurred during my periodic services.
I have driven 30000 Kms and my maintenance cost till now (25000 Km service was done) is nearly Rs. 17044/-Till the free service was over at 10000 Kms. my overall expenditure was Rs. 1500. for the remaining 15000 Kms I have spent around 17044/-
When I took my vehicle for 25000 Kms periodic maintenance the advisor recommended:
Injector cleaning – Rs. 800/-
Air Suction Intake, Throttle body cleaning – Rs. 900/-
Engine flush-Quick clean – Rs. 800/-
On 10000 Kms they advised me to do engine de-carbonizing – Rs. 1350/-
I think charging 800/- for Engine quick flush
and then charging me Rs 400/- for BARDAHL (Oil Supp) – 320 ml is nothing but
deceiving the customer.
He charged me 800/- for Injector cleaning and again Rs. 200/- for
BARDAHL Sp. Inj. KLENE – 100 ml.
I hope our service centers do
not follow the Inspection and Maintenance section in our user manual (Page 83
Section 9-2) completely. If you see my service history I have changed brake oil
and coolant every 10, 000Kms.
After inspecting the 30000Km
service I will have to decide whether to keep my Alto or move out to some other
brand due to lake of good service centers in Chennai. I had a Zen in Hosur,
Tamilnadu and Esteem VXI in Trichy,
Tamilnadu but did not have any problem towards
maintenance.
Maruti people should check the service history of all the vehicles to narow down these mistakes. The next time you take your vehicle for service, be aware of the words like, Engine quick Flush, Radiator Flush, Injector cleaning, throttle body cleaning etc. Ask them what exactly they do.
