I bought my new Alto Lx this month, Jan ’07. I enjoyed long drive to Alibaug, jaljira fort. Its comfortable, smooth in driving, effective AC for both front and back seaters. Silent while running. I ran it about 120 KM/hr on Mumbai - Pune Express Highway and amazed as it wont woble at all.It zips away. It took so smooth turns on ghats and so easy to handle.Biggest thing that amazed me as I’m a new driver, on highway it gave me an average of 19.04 km/ ltr with AC ON. In city, its giving me an average of 17 km / ltr with AC ON and 20 km/ltr without AC. As its a small car, hence you won’t miss power steering much.
Only one small drawback, it looses its power, pick up when AC is ON in initial start. However if you use AC in top gear you won’t feel much difference but yes make sure to turn OFF AC while climbing on ghats and fly overs.I request Maruti Udyog to concentrate on this car and try to remove it’s drawbacks. Trust me, if they add some power, comfort in this car, then it wont be easy to beat this car.
