This is an ideal deal for all those who wish to satisfy their hunger for speed. With a modest price range on all its models and only a Santro in its competition, Alto gives the same feeling on the wheel, still not heavy on purse.
Most of the car lovers would agree that the car is all about speed. And with a low budget this, is not a wish to be satisfied. Mostly all high-speed cars are costly. Alto saves the day with really good performance at even 120kph with ease.
The interiors are typical Maruti brand ones. You dont find the contoured interiors like a santro but still are cosy. There is enough space for those who are upgrading from a fiat or maruti800. The previous versions were not so attractive but the new ones ie LX or LXi are really good.
The new models are much better with new colors and much better headlights and tail lights. But as I said for someone who doesnt want to spend an extra 25000 bucks or something for santro, this is no less.
The pick-up and control is good and is not a problem even in traffic. The car is 10-15% different when the AC is switched on, but one gets used to it in few drives. The fuel efficiency is good within city limits and better on highways, but with AC on, or when above 100kph, it decreases considerably.
The BEST PART is the car condition at speeds above 100kph. As I mentioned above even for me the car is all about speed. This suits my choice. The car just cruises to three-digit speed. And with the 5th gear on, it flies.
There is sometimes some vibration when the speed is between 110-115 kph. But after crossing 115 kph, the car is silent again and it races. Even at speed of 127kph the car is smooth.
I am aiming to touch 130kph next. And I know my car will just smile as I do so. Who said Formula 1 drivers are comfortable in their cars..... but they love their cars because their cars give them what they want. SPEED.
