Hi everyone,
Reading all reviews, let me tell you about the Alto, in a different tune. Bought this car in late December 2005, wanted to go for a 800, but wifey insisted, and I relented, (thank god for that). Anyways, buying the car was easy, thankyou Anupam Gupta (DD Motors, Mayapuri), and of course ICICI. Anyways, our first long drive was to Jaipur, Me (driving) a friend and his 10 yr old son beside me in the front, wifey, friends wife and our son at the back. Splendid drive. We didnt drive too fast, but made it to Jaipur in easy 4hr 45 min, which includes a 50 min. stop to have paranthas. The next Lonnnng drive was to Nainital. My first time driving in the hills, excellent handling spent about 1850.00 on fuel up and down, with the AC on. And finally this summer to Mussoorie my fav. hangout (studied there in hostel), easy driving, even wifey drove on the highway for about 45 min. till which time I was nearly shouting at her to stop.
The reason for my story should be apparently clear - the Alto a fab. car, very comfortable driving, and I have an LX (no power steering), but I find it very comfortable driving it, highway, city, even jams, with the ac on, you just need to know how much your car can take what speeds to drive at comfortably. and from then on its absolutely no problems.
So anyone planning to buy a basic, yet powerful car - Alto.
Have already driven 10000 kms, since Dec. 05
Planning to travel more soon, Corbett Park, Amristar, Manali, lets see, after all Alto is lets go isnt it ?
