I have bought a black alto on 5th april 2006 for 3.2 lacs at BANGALORE. have driven 1680 kms till date. I was a novice driver when I bought my car. so I can say I have learnt driving on this new car. I havent faced any quality/maintainance issues till now. every thing is going fine. But I have learnt quite a few things when buying the car and maintainnig it. hope you will be benifited by knowing them.
choosing the car finance: if you go for the car showroom agents’ finance persons you will end up with higher rates of interest. so best approach is it walki into citifinancial office and deal with them directly. there are some issues ..like delay of processing and etc, so you need to alot 15 days for finance approval. but its worth waiting that time. one can save about 100 rs per emi per month, which turn out to be 5000 bucks per lack for 5 yr loan period = a car sterio or imitation leather seats!!!!
On the very second day of purchasing the car, I left my car keys inside and locked the door........AAAAAAAAAAA......what a pain...........and it was midnight 12:30......no mechanic available................have stopped couple of cab guys to help me out....they tried to unlock the key by inserting a scale and hitting the lock to open it.....in the process they broke the lock and it got stuck.....i was loosing my temper and patience and at that time I saw the dealers sticker on the rear window and as last hope I called them. surprisingly they responeded at the middle of the night and gave me 24x 7 service number and they arrived at my place and unlocked the car within no time......GOD what a releif.........so guys....every time you come out of the car make sure you have the key with you.........
initially driving alto was fun, but then I have driven santro..it was superb. no way compared to alto in term of power, space and trims. and the basic version is cheaper then the alto lx. but the only advantage I find with alto is mileage. I am getting a milleage of 15-18 in the city with a/c switched on for 1/4th time.
4 I own a Black car and my sincere suggestion is pls DONT BUY BLACK ONE...its lot hell of pain to maintain it. one will have to clean it twice a day to make it look good. but BOY once it is clean it looks awesome.......Black alto is not suitable for bangalore...as here the roads are very dusty and if you park your black car under a tree to avoid the hot sun......by the time you finish your work and return to your car......trust me......the car looks disgusting with the bird all over..............YUUUUUUUUCKS...........i suggest a silver one......atleast the wont be visible.....
- Alto is good for one month....in terms of the ego satisfaction......now I feel I should have bought a swift...in terms of emi it is not that expensive ...just 2000 rs more per month for 1 lac.....so go for it..its worth getting down from a swift, rather than an alto. the respect , the style, image one gets is quite huge.
6.PETROL......500 bucks for every 2 days / 200 kms.....thats some thing is not very pinching in the begining but.after few weeks one will feel the pain......i never thought I would drive so much..but if you are like me who loves travelling GO FOR DIESIL CAR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the only problem is we dont have good deisil cars in india......INDICA sucks.......taxi image........but one got to live with it.........
