STATUARY WARNING : Im only writing this review cause im really bored and have nothin to do!!! So forgive the lazy style.....
I hate my Dad!
Now if you wondering what that has got to do with a review on the Alto.. read on. A couple of years ago I decided I needed a small cheap car to go with my fuel guzzling, maintainance hungry SERA, so I purchased the cheapest of the lot - A brand new Maruti 800.
Exactly 2 months later my Dad purchases a used Alto for half the price. Heres where the misplaced hatred began. His car (which costs half of what I paid) is an absolute pleasure to own and drive! Why am I stuck with an uncomfortable clunky 800? Why is maruti even manufacturing them???
The Alto is one of the most economical cars to own. But it does not sacrifice comfort and looks for that. It has very comfortable seating, a great AC, good pickup and a decent fuel efficiency. I use it to travel to work everyday as well as the weekend drives to nearby hill stations. Its perfect for both situations...
It can handle long hours in mumbais rush hour traffic along with the speedy mumbai pune expressway and leave you pretty comfortable after both. Compare this to the Maruti 800 which WILL leave you cramped.
Of course along with the ALTO comes the legendary Maruti service and cheap spares. So maintainance of this car is no problemo.
I would recommend the ALTO for anyone who is looking for a small car. Anyone looking to buy an 800 - get the ATLO instead, theres like a small 20/30k difference in pricing but youre looking at a whole different level of comfort and features.
As the woman in the ad says.. ALTO.. lets GO!
- If youre wondering how I am driving this car to work when I said its my dad.. all it takes ppl is a forced exchange offer scheme. My dad now drives a maruti 800. I know.. Im cruel.. but cmon, I promise to give it back to him once I get my merc!
