Well, this is my second car from Maruti. I must say that Maruti has finally come up with an excellent Alto variant. Powered with K series engine and low overall weight results in excellent pickup and a great fuel economy. It won’t be wrong to call it a "pocket rocket". It can put even higher segment cars to shame. You would love to overtake with this car.
As fas as exteriors are concerned, from front, it looks like Esteem and from rear, it resembles old generation Zen. The fog lights are "Ritzyyy". It is longer than older Alto as well. And believe me, this combination makes it a classy executive car.
Interiors are not very good and I must say they are just OK. I was definitely expecting a face lift here as well. However, the front seats are more comfortable than that of other cars in this segment. AC too is excellent. It never applies burden on the engine.
For me, gear shift was OK. One department where I found it to be lacking is poor brakes. I have to apply it really hard to make it stop. May be this can be rectified in next service, but brakes should work well even in new car. This is the worst part of this car making it hard to drive and shake the confidence of best of the drivers.
Overall, I like this car and hope that brakes are rectified in next service. It’s definitely a steal at this price. Maruti Alto K10 would be selling like a hot cakes in the town and I can already see that in the roads of NCR. Good going Maruti.
