March 3, 2017: The Maruti Baleno RS has been launched at Rs 8.69 lakh ( ex-showroom, Delhi) .E-Bookings for the Baleno RS have commenced at Rs 11, 000. Just like the Ignis, the RS can be booked through the Nexa website. It looks similar to the Baleno but features a turbocharged 1.0-litre ’Boosterjet’ engine which produces 102PS of peak power and 150Nm of peak torque. The other big mechanical update are the addition of rear disc brakes. The RS is based on the top-spec Alpha variant, and gets all the bells and whistles such as projector headlamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and 16-inch alloy wheels. Likely to be priced around Rs 9 lakh, the Baleno RS will go up against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GT TSi and the Fiat Abarth Punto.
