This is Maruti’s first foray into the luxury segment and they seem to have pulled it off!!
The Baleno’s peppy 1600 c.c. engine gives a thumping 94 bhp and makes driving this car a load of fun!! Its spacious too though not in the league of Honda City or Lancer but the space holds up well against the competition.
Build quality is good and the ride quality is smooth..something which maruti never had as its strong points.
The problem is that maruti in the interest of fuel efficiency has provided thin spindly tyres and a car that has the capablity to go REALLY fast needs better fatter tyres. However fuel efficiency is fantastic for a car in this class but then when was good fuel effficiency ever a issue with a maruti product??
overall, the baleno is fantastic value for money with a good powerfull engine , good ride quality and the maruti service back up .
would I buy it???
if I had that kind of money I would rather go for the honda city.
