Maruti recently announced that they were discontinuing the Baleno and offered a hefty discount. I was amazed at the price (about Rs. 60, 000 discount) and decided to purchase one. It is a **VXi **model, with **alloy wheels, rear spoiler and automatic climate control A/C**. Since we exchanged our old Zen, the final price after all discounts(incl. customer loyalty, petrocard discounts) was about 4.5 lacs. The price includes an **LPG kit**, that Maruti fitted at an additional cost of Rs. 18, 000(Star gas, 60 liter), a **Teflon coat**, a **gray** **artificial leather seat cover, ** additional **cassette player**(CD player is standard) and **extended warranty**(4 years total).
Pros:-
The air-conditioning is simply amazing, never seen a vehicle that has such powerful A/C.
Great engine power, the LPG kit does not decrease the power of engine.
Comfort is superb, both at driver’s and passenger’s side.
Cons:-
Low clearance, so if you are traveling with around 5 people in car(incl. driver), drive carefully.
Mileage is low in city(8-10), but ok ih highways(14). Since we use LPG, not a great concern.
The rear spoiler blocks view of rear-view mirror.
Satety: No options for air bags.
Overall, I am a very satisfied customer. Surprisingly, this great value-for-money car never clicked in market and now it is no longer available to buy new.
