This time its a premium segment hatchback from Maruti’s Stable.The recently launched Maruti’s Baleno will try to take on the Hyundai’s i20 Elite and Honda’s Jazz, VW Polo, Fiat Punto Evo etc in its segment.
Baleno launched under Maruti Nexa is MAruti forst car in its premim hatchback segment and a well designed car.The car actually looks good except for weird looking grill at the front.The interior plastic quality is better than that in Fiat but could not cpmpete with quality and finishing in German VW and Korean Hyundai.
The only parameter where Maruti might win is the price and the after sales and support.The Baleno starts at 4.99 lacs- 8.11 lacs with petrol and diesel variants.While the leader in segment i20 starts at 5.3 lacs followed by Jazz. The only competitor for price range would be Fiat Punto Evo who is not doing so well n the market and struggling to get its hold in the indian market since long.
As claimed by Maruti the diesel variants shall give a mileage of about 27 kmpl while petrol variant to be 21kmpl.
Overall the the car is good, not so well designed but has lots of variants and cheaper than other cars in the segment
Baleno is not bad i20 Elite is the best in segment.Its just the case of that 40k additional for the i20 Elite, if not you can definitely go for Maruti Baleno.
The only question that keep coming into mind is .Why Maruti has launched this car as Baleno which has been a huge flop in the past?
