Good Innovation from Maruti

Just on the day the way of launch, I went and test drove the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. It was a memorable experience infact. After driving all geared all these days, it was different experience while driving Celerio.

I sat in the cockpit, the sales manager was sitting next to me. He told me to keep the gear rod in the neutral mode. After starting the engine, he told me hold the brake pedal and asked me change the gear rod to "D" mode, and once I started releasing the brake pedal, the vehicle started moving and as I accelerate, I was able to find the gear position number is changing on the display as I increase the speed.  For a moment, I applied a sudden brake, to my surprise it is back to one i.e. from 4th to 1st. Again, it started from 1st gear, it was a good moment really.

While I was driving in the 3rd  gear in automatic mode, the sales manager told me to change to manual mode, by pushing the gear rod to the left. The advantage in this mode is, while accelerating, the gear rod is used for increasing the speed only. But again, when I applied sudden brakes, even thought it was in manual mode, after the sudden brake, the gear is automatically to 1st gear. That was just really appreciable technology.

In fact, it was good improvement which is required at the moment in a city like Chennai. The dealer says that the bare minimum mileage on a bumper to bumper basis is around 16 to 18. That was great deal on a petrol car and at this budget. I really have no comments on the car about mileage, as I am eagerly waiting for the car by March 1st 2014 and thereafter will update you.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to share your experience’s!
