I bought the Celerio ZXi(Optional) manual transmission for Rs5.71L. Dealer took nearly 3 months to deliver as against the promised 5 weeks.
The Good:
Comfortable drive. The small engine is refined and the pedals are soft. Gears change smoothly and effortlessly. With the driver seat raised in highest position, it gives a great view of the road.
Cabin noise from engine is on the lower side(much lower compared to my earlier Vista).
Seat does not give me back ache compared to the Hyundais(Eon, Verna both give me back ache in less than 30 min)
A/c is decent. Have seen better performing A/c in the Fords
For the small engine, it is surprisingly nippy. Enough power for the city. I havent had the opportunity to go on long drive yet.
The car appears small from the outside but somehow the cabin space is decent though lesser than the Vista. But I have no complaints with the space in the vehicle.
Plenty of practical storage places.
The Bad:
Dealer delivery time for the manual transmission is 3 months. Automatic is even worse at 9 months
The horn keeps turning itself off every now and then and also starts working without any warning or reason. Reliably is in doubt.
Bluetooth also behaves erratically every now and then. The car should automatically connect to the phone but some times it refuses and I have to redo the bluetooth setup.
The Ugly:
- The vehicle gives only 11 kmpl. The advertised mileage is 23 and the dealer sold the car to me saying it will give me 15 in city. A big lie. If I had known this I would have bought a diesel car.
Verdict:
If you are looking for a car that gives a good mileage then simply go diesel. Petrol cars will not give you the mileage of 15 in city despite what the dealers promise. Dont get fooled. Otherwise the car is a good comfortable drive.Cant comment on reliability or dealer service as it is still very new. I will update the review later this year.
UPDATE
After second service and again complaint that the vehicle only gives 11kmpl, the service person has improved the fuel efficiency to 12.5 but at the cost of power. My car is no longer nippy but I dont mind as my priority is towards fuel efficiency rather than power. The horn has been replaced under warranty and now I have no problem with horn.
Maruti Service has improved dramatically compared to what it was 10 years ago. So that is another good sign.
