Even today Esteem remains one of the frontrunners on the Indian roads probably Queen of the Indian roads. Why?
Simply because when it was launched in India, it was ahead of the Indian Standard Time. Even today it sells like a hotcake.
I have myself crossed the speed of 150 kmph in it. Have regularly got an average of 13-14 kmpl. with AC running. When I had upgraded from 800 to Esteem, I had a simple reason, I needed better AC condition. But that time, now think I got more than a bonus in it.
Have driven well at 14000 ft height on snowy J. N. Road, Nathula (India-China border), in bad weather it cruised well to get us back, when many other vehicles like Sumo, Bolero etc. were stucked up.
It still supersedes all other cars in its segment. Over the years, I have seen people agree to its performance being better than Ford Icon and even Hundai Accent.
Adding to this advantage is the cost effective servicing & maintenance.
Have always got smooth ride in it alongwith supercool AC and loved upgrading from Esteem LX to Esteem VXi.
Its wonderful to see that after so many years Esteem is still a piece of a gem.
