Ive been driving the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta 1.2 MT for the past few months, and its been an enjoyable experience overall. The car has a unique and funky design that really stands out on the road, especially with its SUV-like stance despite being a hatchback.
The 1.2L petrol engine is smooth and responsive. City driving is effortless, and the gear shifts are light and slick. Highway performance is also decent — the car can cruise comfortably at 100 km/h without any stress. Mileage is impressive; I get around 17–18 km/l in the city and 20+ km/l on highways.
The Zeta variant comes well-loaded with features like push-button start, touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, reverse parking sensors, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The interior is spacious for a car this size, and the driving position feels high and confident.
Ride quality is good, though it feels slightly stiff over rough roads. One small downside is the boot space — it’s just 260 litres, which is okay for city use but a bit tight for long trips. Also, rear seat under-thigh support could have been better for tall passengers.
But for the price, it offers excellent value with Maruti’s trusted service network and low maintenance costs. Its a perfect choice for first-time car buyers or those looking for a stylish second car.
