LESS MILEAGE etc

In continuation of my earlier review under the caption’MILEAGE AND BRAKE FAILURE’ I wish to share the following with the viewers:

1) Regarding brake failure: as expected the Maruti’s Mechanic informed me that if the Engine stops running the Power steering and the brake pedal will become hard and both stop working. I also understood that both these mechanism works under one master cylinder. Viewers, remember I was going at a speed of 20 k.m per hour and suddenly the engine stops for whatever reason known only to the Maruti People and my brake not working and accident happened. Just imagine the speed of the car was 80 k.m per hour and same situation occurs. It looks all the modern cars are work like this only. So drive carefully keeping the above in mind. Also, always make sure the Engine does not stop on its own. Thanks to the Modern Technology. I FEEL THE CARS WITHOUT THESE MODERN SYSTEMS ARE BETTER. POWER STEERING IS NICE BUT THE RISK IS NOT NICE. Also the performance of the Power Steering deteriorate slowly and the luxury is lost with time.

2) Regarding the mileage: The best available method for checking the mileage is filling the fuel to the FULL TANK and run for some distance and again refill the Tank and calculate. This FULL TANK CHECKING METHOD requires care while filling the tank. Usually they will shake the car while filling and make the Tank achieve its full level. This method is okay but it still requires perfection. After filling the tank as above, wait at the Bunk for 5 or 10 minutes for the air bubbles to settle and fill the tank again. you will be surprised to note that 1/2 to 3/4 litre of petrol gets filled. Adopt the same method after the drive and calculate the mileage. DO NOT TRUST THE MILEAGE EQUIPMENT WHICH IS AVAILABLE WITH THE DEALERS. ALL EYE WASH. My car gives only 10 to 11 k.m.p.l in city and 14 to 15 k.m.p.l in high ways. Fuel Gauge meter is another Joke. You can never trust this instrument.

3) Regarding the poor visibility: Front Pillar is arranged in such a way that small objects are not at all visible from the Driver’s side while turning the car. I always not able to view the speeding motor bikes crossing me. Terrible arrangement.

4) Regarding Gear Shifting: MODERN TECHNOLOGY not applied in this very important area, Normal shifting is HARD and the Reverse Gear is always TERRIBLE. Pushing the Clutch pedal twice and put the Reverse Gear is the Normal practice for old generation cars, this modern RITZ is no difference from the older cars.

Finally the high Seating arrangement is fine but Driver’s seat is not as comfortable as SHIFT

I bought this car with high hopes but today I regret.
