I am back with another update after 5500 Kms.
I have seen numerous reviews complaining about the wait period etc. I hope people understand that the product quality feature and performance have got no co-relation with it. If you are reviewing Maruti or your dealer, you can put that grouse across.
Anyway, Some more of my experiences with the product. One drawback in this car is no heated side mirrors. I have driven mostly during rains and during heavy rains the water vapour and mist settles on the glass and you are literally blind as you cannot see what is in the rear. I hope they provide that option in coming time. at least a wiper also will do.
also a rear parking sensor is very handy as the raised boot limits rear visibility.
I agree with abhay_neelwarne in that regard.
However, I find door pockets good enough to hold CDs and other knick knack.
The car is a shooter in straight line drive and needs attention during sharp bends.
I was once driving along NH1 from CHD to DEL and about 60 km from delhi, I could follow a skoda superb car. Dzire was able to match it in pick up and breaking. I am not saying that it is as good as skoda but only that it makes u capable so that you can compete. I have driven at speeds of 140 thought not for very long because of rains and bad roads. In pick up, it can stand in comparison with scorpio, verna, skoda etc. if not 100% may be 90% where you can easily tail them. Rest depends on how the driver is.
One of the biggest advantage of Dzire is the smooth handling and steering. It cuts like a small car and in city drive minimizes fatigue. The climate control is really very nice. You always have a very pleasant temperature inside.
Fuel effeciency is very good. you get 18-20 and if you go on steady speeds of 90-100 on highway, you can get upto 25 KMPL.
Happy and Safe Driving.

Hi,
after waiting for two months I got my RED ZDi delivered last week. I was told I was very lucky to have the delivery so soon so I will not go into the waiting part and concentrate more on the car per se.
Just after taking the delivery I took the car from Chandigarh to Delhi and then from Delhi to Jaipur. There we drove it in city and on kuccha road equally. within two days I was back in chandigarh through the same route driving 1300 Kms in 3 days with appx 800 highway driving and 500 city.
The car is a treat to drive. The diesel in very silent and there is hardly much cabin noise. The coil does not need any time to start. the wider tyres on ZDi and alloy wheels give a very solid feel to the car and it gulps ditches and bad roads quite well. the climate control is very nice - just set the temperature and the rest is taken care. During way back to Delhi from Jaipur, there was lot of rain and the demister worked very well giving a clear view. Gear shifting is no problem and pick up is superb.
the car reaches 120 kmph within a blink on higway and at speeds upto 125, it is very stable and you are very much in control. ABS braking is spot on. it just comes to stop within short distance.
The average I got was about 20 with AC(climate control) always on.
Night driving is easy as the lights are good and give a clear road view.
Steering is light and city driving is very smooth.
Ride comfort for both driver, co-passengar in front and back is very good. six feet people can sit in front and back. 3 people at the back is yet to be tested.
all in all, it is the best value for money.
The trunk is 440 litres but due to the beams it gets reduced somewhat.
The steering mounted controls are the best part. while in delhi I was easily changing FM channels without searching for the button on the control. When ever there was a mobile ring, you could mute and unmute without taking your eyes off the road.
The dial illumination in the night time is very nice. Even the illumination on the integrated sterero and the cigeratte lighter is very good. Two lights in the front and one in the middle are more than enough for night reading.
