I purchased my Swift on 21 November’08. Been over a month now. Like most things about it. But I wish the reverse gear was a little easier to shift into. Almost always have a problem with it. I’m told this is a "Maruit" problem. Is it so? Also the inside door handles being "plasticky" is a bit of a sore point. But otherwise it makes for quite a decent buy I think.
However, I didn’t have a pleasant time purchasing the car. The Kothari Wheels executives in Pune made me run around quite a few times. First with finance-related assistance (they seemed least interested in whether or not I could get a loan. Perhaps they had so many customers in line during Diwali that one person not being able to confirm his order made little difference to them), then for the date of delivery, then for taking delivery of the car post registration, then for getting the speedometer fixed.
And after all this, they wanted me to sign off on their customer satisfaction survey as “All problems resolved” when I had to get most of these problems resolved by myself. Hope the Maruti corporate guys are reading this.
