Maruti up with a new variant - Swift
Once again Maruti is coming up to capture the A2 segment market after its success with Alto. This time the new variant is known as SWIFT. It has recently been launched in Europe after its very successful launch in Japan somewhere around end of 2004.

It looks really cool and it seems that for the first time we are going to have a Maruti product with European looks. I am anxiously waiting for the car to be launched as that is the exact time when the actual car prices would be revealed. If its going to be within the price range of 4-5 lakhs then I think we have great deal in our hand. Maruti has constantly being producing quality products all through and hence I am expecting a good offering this time too.
If the company really comes up and maintains its ’’ ever reliable’’ reputation with the Swift then I think its once again gonna prove its unbeaten leadership in India.
The car has surely scored in the looks department, and will definitely be an instant hit with the youth. However the test for Swift would be its acceptance with families.
The inevitable question that crops up is whether India is ready to switch from sedans to hatchbacks?.Will the middle class Indian be able to digest the fact that for 4-5 lakhs, he is buying a ’small’ car when for almost the same price he can get a bigger traditional sedan.
