I’ve been driving a Swift Vxi for more than two years now, and I continue to be in love with the car! Here’s why:
Space:
Swift offers great cabin space as compared to the other Hatchbacks available in the market. The only other hatch which is as good in terms of space is U-Va. It has ample legroom and headroom and can easily seat five people.
Interiors:
The interiors of the car are very practical and user friendly. The flat top of dashboard helps one keep paper/wallet/mobile without risk of slipping. There are useful side pockets on front doors and a very handy bottle holder between the front seats. Glove box though could have been more spacious.
Instrumentation:
Practical and attractive. It feature a tachometer, 2 trip meters and fuel+temp guage. Also, it has useful indicators like seat belt warning.
Looks:
In my opinion, it still remains the best looking hatch in the market.
Power:
Not a racy car, but a very steady performer. It gains speed steadily and surely and is very stable at high speeds. It is surely a treat as compared to smaller hatchbacks but may lag behing a Getz.
Fuel Efficiency:
A big downer. My car has been giving an average of about 11-12kmpl on city driving, which is very poor for a hatch. If the fuel efficiency was better, It would have been difficult to find a fault in Swift.
Service/Spares:
Maruti - So never faced a problem. Have driven this car in Gurgaon, Mumbai and Lucknow - no complaints about service and spares what so ever.
Air conditioning:
We have a winner here. AC is very effective and makes the car cool down quickly even in scorching Delhi heat. The Ac does not affect the power/pickup of the car.
Reliability:
For me, the car has not given up on road even once in 28 months. So absolute delight here!
