Swift petrol review after 5 yr use

Dear readers,

I must first say that I love my car, it is great that 5 years it supported me in my life covering around 24000KM and is still young to go along for next 5 more years without any issue.

The engine is 1.3l non K10 in my VXI. So some of the review points below may slightly change towards positive if we consider for K10 engine.

During these years I drove few more cars (M800, AltoK10, Figo-P, IndigoECS, Getz, Swift-D, ) and I found one or the other features in these cars better than Swift !!

What I experienced:

Visibility - Bad in Swift - much better in small cars and Figo. This reduces the confidence while driving in traffic conditions. There is a lot of guess work (calculation) that our brain has to do while driving.

Fuel Consumption - Although mine is not the K10 engine, but Swift petrol is never near any of those fuel efficient cars in market.

Power - Hugely underpowered - you will feel ashamed on highways and ghats. I regret not buying diesel version. The character of the car changes with every extra passenger added. I must say that this is not the case even with M800.

Comfort - Better than all I experienced in the same segment.

Stability - Changes after every service and we know there is little control one can have on how the service was done. It is not intrinsically stable at high speeds (beyond 125).

Space - Although it seems big from outside but there is serious space issue inside. Swift get beating from most of the cars in segment (i20, Liva, Punto to name a few).

Driving in Rain - The vehicle is well insulated and ready to take on big potholes.

Air Conditioning - Very nice. If one gets the cleaning done timely - the effectiveness of AC is good. But... with AC on - you are gone- on highways during overtaking, ghats the vehicle start dying.
