My 5th car, after an Amby, a Maruti800, a Toyota Starlet( in UK), and a Zen Lxi, this Swift Vxi is a winner on the looks, smartness, fuel consumption, Zippiness, comfortability and reliability front!! Initial pricing was unbeatable!! I am very satisfied with the car ( not the dealer though!!).
I saw some adverse reviews by some members; Maruti should look into the problems promptly and make them happy as well!! I think bad comments about a potentially good car will rob other consumers from making the right choice. Any machine can cause unexpected problems; if it is addressed appropriately by the company consumers are generally happy.
Also, Swift should have a few more colors, especially my favourite White; which I could not get!
It gives me 13.5 to 15 KMs to a litre ( with sparingly used AC and without) with my driving mainly in 4th and 5th gear using usual (i.e not Premium) petrol, now clocking 10, 000KMs over the last 7 months. Not too bad for a 1.3lt engine!! Though I do avoid fast pick-ups sudden brakings and usually cruise at 55-60KM/Hr speed!
I would definitely recommend a Swift if you drive your own car. But please don’t if your driver drives it and you plan to sit at the back!! When I see this on the roads I feel really sorry!! The whole pleasure is in the drivers seat!! Or else buy a Sonata!!
