May be its bit too early to write a Review as I bought my Swift on 29/oct/o6 but I am going to update this review on regular basis...
Where to start from....... ok , after planning for so long and after doing a lot of R&D I short listed 5 cars Wagon R , Hyundai Santro, Maruti Esteem , Hyundai getz and Suzuki Swift ... prior to this I used Maruti 800 , Maruti Zen and Maruti Baleno (at times) so I was quite comfortable with "Maruti" and personally do have lot of faith in maruti as a brand because of obvious reasons like easy maintenance, good service network and cheap spare parts and what not.
I took test drive of santro XO (Top Model) but I found it bit slow , interiors are designed using cheap plastic and road grip was missing. So Santro was out ....
Then I took test drive of Wagon R and I thought then I am sitting in an Almirah rather then a car because maruti has desperately tried to create storage space in car.....and in any case my girl dont like the "mini van" kind of look .....
Then I tried my hands on Maruti Esteem , power is good look is ok but the interiors sucks big time
Then I test rode a Getz and I found the engine quite peppy , interiors very good , good rode grip superb Steering and huge boot space .... I almost made my mind to get a Getz and then........
Boy I tested Swift .......gosh this baby rocks .....as soon as I opened the door of the car I started grinning and from then onwards I cant stop grinning .... interiors are soo classy for its class , tachometer , digital tripmeter all warning meters , neatly designed dashboard , beautiful headrests , AC controls "sporty gear knob" twin tone interiors ..... it was love at first sight ...
And talking about the space , it gives u a feel that you are sitting in some "BIG" car even a 6’4 Tall guy can sulk in drivers seat and then also there will be enough leg room for our leggy beauty SHILPA SHETTY at the rear seat. Boot space is sufficient enough to hide two dead bodies at the same time and even then you will be having space for two AK-47 and a rocket launcher.
After admiring it for good 30 mins I swiched on the ignition and believe me I am not exggaturating but it was so silent that I again twisted the key and it gave me that lousy noise and the executive gave me that dirty look anyways car is sooooooo silent even with AC on , I shifted to first gear and after that my smile turned into a big grin because ... this baby is fast ...fast enough to SMOKE a santro fast enough to smoke a esteem and fast enough to give you a good aderline rush.
Gear shift is butter smooth far better then a baleno and santro , EPS is very effective and usefull .
AC is kinda ok not great , Brakes are very effective . Huge wheel base with 14Inch Rim combined with set for best in the line tubeless tires gives u aw sum road grip.
All in all value for money
Exteriors ....in my view solely are dammn sexy and very european , gives u feel of a "BEETLE" and boy ohh boy that Big Booty remind you of the song "Shake your Booty Booty its your Duty duty " .......... even a very brief glimpse of Red Swift makes me feel like a 14 year old kid who has watched a soft porn movie for the first time and wondering about those goosebumps.
All in all I found it value for money and would recommend it to every body who want good space a comfortable ride , style and for those who want to smoke every other car on a traffic signal and believes in staying ahead and showing there middle finger to looser honkers.
I have completed 300 kms , so more detailed and bit technical review will roll on after first service.
After first service I am also planning for K&N Filter and some other performance Mods.
