Swift : Rocking !

Hi Guys,

This June, I owned my first car - Swift VXI- ABS version.

Nice experience so far.

Mileage:

City conditions :

With Speed 2 AC - 12 KM/Litre

With No AC - 15 Km/Litre

Highway:

With Speed 2 AC - 16 KM/Litre

With No AC - 20 Km/Litre

You must not be using clutch and break unnecessarily.

I have a minor accident and what I found is that front is not so strong. However, when I took repairing estimate, it was greatly low.

My front was to change. It costed around 1700 + taxes and 50% of it was under insurance.

100% insurance worked for denting/painting and replacing if required.

so maintenance is greatly low as compared to other cars. If you have limited and budgeted money for your car maintenance, you should go for Swift.

On the other hand, money is not limited to you, in other words, if you have plenty of money to burn in maintenance, you can take any other car ofcourse.

Maruti has its name because of low maintenance cost, that I have realised.

After all, I am proud of my decision of going with Swift.

Looks, pickup, its Power steering, power window everything is good.

ABS version extends its braking efficiency and timing. Couple of times, it might have saved me to meet collisions.

If you are comparing Swift with Santro/Zen/Getz/Ikon, you are doing mistake.

Santro, Zen are far lower luxaries. Only comptition is with Getz and Ikon. Though, Ikon is 3 box car and gives you complete car feeling, but you feel robbed for dicky when you enter into major maintenance due to breakdown or accident. On the other hand, Getz may have competitive features on paper, but looks - O God, I wont pay even 3 lakhs for it. It can be slightly better than Santro but no comparison with Swift.

In real means, Swift has no competition.

In last 5 months, Swift sale has been increased almost triple times. (my assumption based on the no. of Swift cars increasing on road I used to see. Excuse me Maruti if it is more than that ! :)

If you can go with Swift Zxi, better you go for a Baleno. Though its longer - manouvrity in city is therefore lower, fuel efficiency in city is lower than swift.

In Swift, Eeither go for VXI - ABS or VXI (if extreme braking is not thaat required...)

LXI can be taken if you are having slightly tight budget.

Cental locking : Get it from Maruti Genuine.

Car cover, Seat covers, Mp3 player: Can take it from outside but from good reputed shop since Dealers have much higher price and very limited choice.

I hope it will help to decide for new potential buyers. (Like I was...)

For queries, you can write comments. I’ll try to respond it as good as possible.
