The company has received approx 12K bookings of swift and I am not sure what kind of car it is gonna prove.
I have seen the car parked at CENTRESTAGE mall in NOIDA and from the ouside the car looked very cool.Here is an insight on the car.I will talk about the price, looks Customer Service and Fuel efficiency which are the most crucial factors for people in India while purchasing a car. (Security has never been a thing in the mind of Indian buyer at any time.We will save a rupee or two in petrol at cost of very precious life of ours and our family.)
Price:
The most important aspect of a car in Indian market is it’s price.With a price tag of 4-5 lakhs the car is perfectly priced.Unlike the City , Fusion and Other cars which are very highly and wrongly priced because of no reason.The car is surely gonaa kill PALIO(which is almost dead) , Santro and Wagon R .That is why Hyundai has already reduced the price of Santro by 19K as per the latest news and GETZ will follow as per my understanding.On the other hand Maruti has increased the price by 10K .So the price advantage will not be a factor anymore with the SWIFT.
Looks:
On the looks front I do not think any car looks as compact and as beautiful as swift but I think it is a bit cramped at the back. The luggage space is as bad as a ZEN but again the Zen has sold as a hotcake in past.So I do no see any reason that it is not gonna sell as good as Swift.
Customer Service:
I own a PALIO and a Corsa and have never been to a MAruti Dealer but I dont think service is gonna be a problem with Maruti.
Fuel Efficiency:
Now this is the most important and sometimes only aspect while people purchase a car. The car with an upgraded ESTEEM engine should give the same 11-12 average like esteem.I agree that the engine has been upgraded but the weight of the car is also more than an ESTEEM and that will counter balance the upgraded engine advantage.
