Swift - The name says it all

I have been a proud owner of the Swift VXI for more than a year now. When I was looking for options of buying a car, my stress was on compactness, comfort and definitely value for money. I had my budget chalked down and had decided not to exceed 5 lacs. I was a bit confused between my initial choice of Santro Xing and Wagon R.

I went to the Maruti showroom to check out the wagon R where I met a friend who suggested me the Swift. I checked the car and took a test drive. The car was absolute joy to drive. It had the maneuverability of a small car and the power of a big car. I booked it on the spot and was lucky enough to get it delivered within a day.

I’ll write down few points based on my 1year plus experience with the car –

Pros -

It is more powerful than what it looks. With a 1295CC engine within the bulky body can give competition to sedans.

1.The power steering and brakes are easy to control and give you a feel of control over the road.

2.The car maintains a good grip on the road even at high speeds. I have touched 140KMPH easily.

3.The front seats are big and comfortable. The big head rest adds to it.

4.Ample of leg room in front and rear.

5.The car is a looker. It did turn many heads when I bought it, now it a common sight.

6.Boot space is good.

7.AC is powerful and silent.

.8.Small goodies like the ashtray, can holder in front and rear, child lock, headlamp adjuster, digital trip meter etc add to the comfort.

9.Absolute driving comfort.

Cons –

1.Rare seat head rest is not properly placed.

2.The rear seat power window switches are not placed in a comfortable position.

3.The bulky curves on the outside are prone to scratches.

4.The rear windshield is way too small.

I always recommend it to all my friends. Its a complete package.
