Maruti Suzuki Swift

Hi,

This is the first time I am writting a review on car in this site, pretty excited.

I have been waiting for almost 6 months now for this car to be launched, was thrilled when saw the pictures of the car in the Auto Car show last year. I set swift car as my wallpaper in my desk top, was so crazy about this car. Atlast I got a chance to test drive this car last this week, I was luckily to get my hands on the new car which landed on the same day to the showroom and had only run 50kms.

I never missed any article/review about this car in the net or in the magazines, but everything turned out to be a big disappointment, and why!!!!

Here it goes

Pros:

1. Look and feel of the car too good

   
   




2. Brakings are very good and sensitive

   
   




3. Very smooth to drive, I did not feel that the engine was ON, could

   
   

not even sense the vibration while driving this vehicle

1. The power did not drop when driven with AC ON, I have driven Maruthi 800, Santro and Lancer, and trust me the engineer is too good

   
   




2. AC cooling is fast and good

   
   




3. Steering is stress free on control.

   
   




4. 3 people can comfortably sit in the rear than any other car in this segment and below this segment

   
   

(people with 32-34 waist would what I would say)

Cons -

I am used to drive the Santro and I am 5’9ft height,

1. I was feeling the sitting to be low in the car and not too comfortable (for me)

   
   




2. Not sure of the suspension, I purposely took the car on bad roads to check this, felts it to be sensitive and soft, the technical guy said its the Rally based suspension and the best, not sure thou, would have to test drive getz and corsa sail to comment on this.

   
   




3. The milege said by the showroom guys was 13-15 in city with AC ON, I cannot buy this, for the reason that the engine has been borrowed by esteem, and also heavier than the esteem engine at the moment. And another point being, the getz weigh less than swift, and swift bhp is more than getz.

   
   




4. Boot space compared to Santro and getz is too less

   
   




5. Rear leg room space, if stretched back the driver seat fully to the back, its definitely not possible for the people in the rear to sit comfortably, and its the same uncomfortable seating when you stretch back the seat to its original position you would not be able to spread your legs fully as in the Getz.

   
   

My serious opinion, test drive other available car in the segment before you buy.

I am planning to wait 2 month to see the car on road and get the owners feedback before I got for this one.
