I bought my Swift Vdi Azura Grey on 30th Jan’07..In fact I was lucky to get the first delivery of Swift diesel vehicle in Goa..I had booked a Azura Grey Petrol Swift Vxi on 31st Dec 2006..But since my choice colour vehicle was not available, the delay helped me in picking up this gem...And what a decision it was...Being a diesel vehicle the power and pickup seems to be amazing...U just don’t feel that u are driving a diesel car...It gives u a complete different feel...
The accelerator pedal press is just beyond your expectation coz it just keeps taking off but unfortunately on our roads here u are forced to apply brakes and change gears..No wonder this Engine has been awarded the International Engine of the year 2005..U need Mumbai-Poona Highways to utilize the extreme power of this vehicle...I have not calculated the mileage as yet..Coz I know this won’t be an issue..Even with speeds upto 100-120kph on Goa highways and city driving conditions u can expect a minimum of 15 kmpl..The only issue so far is a rattling noise on the dikky door which I think should be solved with some packing...Will have to wait to get this thing done until I get it serviced...
Some other small issues are while parking u need to find a flat and even surface and be careful of the bumps and speedbreakers coz I feel the ground clearance is a bit on a lower side...I had a tough time twice..And while driving, overtaking, reversing u have to get used to the side mirrors coz some part of the back view gets blocked especially while reversing because of the small back glass..I never used the side mirrors of my old Maruti 800..
The Vdi model comes with central locking but the keyless remote feature is missing..I am really very happy for having got the best after waiting for so long..Hope u guys find my review useful...I am looking for a good music system for my car...A double din Pioneer system...Can anyone suggest me any Pioneer Double din models....Tired searching on net...And I have chosen crushed leather seat covers for my car...Any suggestions regarding the same would be appreciated...Thanx in advance....
