Swift VDI good on mileage but poor comfort

I just sold off my Swift VDI 2007 model for 3.4 lakhs. The car was 85, 000 run and was giving a mileage of 20kmpl. The dealer service was also satisfactory and prompt. There was low wear and tear experienced.

However, the seats started sagging in after 20, 000 kms and I developed back aches due to very low seat heights. Further, the clutch became very stiff after 50, 000 kms. I start developing knee pains as I drive more than 2000 kms a month.

Further the seat belts are like chains. They are hard to pull and once connected they won’t let you even breathe. Very tight and stiff. Makes you very uncomfortable. i10 in this regard is superb.

If one has to drive on long distances its not for him. The car results in great fatigue and one doesn’t feel fresh after driving a diesel car.

May be swfift is still good but the petrol version would ride much smoother.
