Took delivery of My swift diesel vdi red colour vdi on 18th may 2007.after taking delivery I filled it up with turbojet diesel and then I noticed the engine was knocking very badly between 1500-2500 rpm , it was as if I was driving a old disel jeep.i took it to the workshop at showed the serrvice engineer they acknoledged that the noise was there and maybe its due to turbojet diesel which I had filled the car with they advised me to drive it with normal diesel which might take the knocking away.
Next day went for a vacation drove the car about 600kms highway finised the tank and put in normal diesel, but still the knocking didnt go, again my vist to the showroom the Maruti enginner present there advised me to put in wruth additive ..my car is sounding just like its fitted with a di engine lots of clattering ...the workshop people checked the ecm and the systems all the nozzles were firing properly.now iam wating to see if the wruth additive works ..
I have driven 100kms stilll that awful noise is there.iam sure that the maruti will give me a new engine considering that they have given me a defective one.the car gave great avarage around 20 kms on highway with ac on and sped 100-110 kms the car is great fun to drive and has great pickup .All new buyers please check the vehicle at PDI level before the car is registered in you name.I guess its my Bad Luck to have a defective engine and hope that Maruti replaces itquickly so that I can enjoy the vehicle more...Date : 15 june 2007hi all ’maruti ppl from delhi finally visited and checked my car , they acknowledged the noise and they are giving me a complelety new engine ..hope thats noise free.....will let you kow later if the noise has gone
