The car is an excellent machine.There is no match for it at this price.Even Ascent is not so powerful when it come to 1300CC and 75BHP.The problem that I had faced would also come to an end soon as the company is working on each detail everyday and imroving.
for long journeys as you say, I had travelled with my family lot of times for 270-300 kms continously.The only problem that you will have to correct and not the company would be...the less comfortable..rear seats and not so comfortable upper back section of front seats.
I would advise definitely buy the car...but dont buy seat covers immediately..instead .driver the car for some 500-600 kms with family/friends at the rear ..you and .they will get to know the exact issue of discomfort ..go to some local ..seat maker and put and 28-32 density foam( or whatever you llike as soft and comfortable) over the original seats..dont cut the original seats...and make them commfortable...that wont cost muck, ...then u can get a cloth seat cover made....over those foam you fit..
So over all...wonderful car....seating is not comfortable...head rest position and hardness is awful...so get it changes...Max cost would be 900Rs for cloth seat cover and 300Rs for foam..
drive my car at 100+speed...so my mileage will not give a clear overview
Still...With a/c on....19Kms/ltr
Without a/c.....22 kms/ltrs....the mileage has incresed by 2kms post 1st service..
Maintenance cost of the car (Is it more than a the petrol variant).: Maintainance no issues...only the oil replacement charges..moreover you save a lot on puncture costs due to tubeless tyres....1000kms ..1st service..5000kms..2nd...10000...3rd free...service, ..only 480 for oill..and tyre alignment...
Engine sound in comparison to other diesel engines: Best in industry, , , comparable to petrol...stop at traffic signal...it seems as if engine is off...no vibrations/sound...
Overall satisfaction with the performance of the car...gr8 car..
Any special care to be taken, because it’s a diesel engine....no care...drive less than 60-65 for 1st 500kms..
Any other input you would like to give me:--dont buy seat cover ...see u might find rear seat uncomfortable for long drive..
