I have Swift VDi with sunlight copper color purchased in April 2008. Till now it has completed around 7000KM. This is my first Diesel car ever used.Before buying this, I was very much worried about the power , pick-up and performance. Finally, I decided to buy this car after reading lots of reviews and discussing with the existing owners. Then I realize that I took a good decision.
Recently I had been to Mumbai from Hulbi. The distance is about 580 KM. Road was nice and I drove the car at the speed of 130KMPH.Driving on Pune-Mumbai express highway was amazing!!
(You can drive this car above this speed, There were other swifts running on the highway putting me behind).
Only drawback of the car is bumper quality.I have seen many Swifts with damaged bumpers.
The links used to fix the bumpers are very delicate and easily break if there is small impact. My car’s rear bumper got damaged.The only solution is to change the entire bumper which costs me about 4-5K.
This is vary bad. I wonder how the Maruti engineers designed this so delicate part which is always prone to get impact.Maruti has to do rework on this to biuld the strong bumper.

Now I have done 27000KM. I am getting 26KMPL ! Recently, I had trip to Dharmasthala. Route was Bangalore>Hasan>Sakleshpur>Gundya>Dharmasthala.Road condition between Sakleshpur & Gundya is much improved now. 70KMS curvy raod, driving in 2-3 gear and with AC, I got 26KMPL. I am loving my Swift. I have spent ~8K in two years for service.
