I have bought a used 2006 SWIFT VXI-49K kilometers done a couple of months back.
The following are what I got along with it:
1.Yokohama tubeless tyres-new.
- Kenwood audio system (dvd player) and JBL speakers.
3.Insurance paid for the next one year.
4.Service done.
5.New battery.
The price I had to pay was around 2.7 lakhs in Bangalore. Yes, I know that it is a premium above what is the vehicle value in websites. But in Bangalore, Good cars especially from Maruti are difficult to come by at prices in vehicle cost calculators.
And those which come by at those prices would be either 20K kilometers extra run or would have you to spent another 20k for tyres or insurance or service.
General info
1.Its very difficult to get a used swift in Bangalore, as the vehicle will be off the shelf if you leave it for a day.
2.Maruti cars will always command a premium over any other brand, and there is a reason for this. This is the trouble free, experience you get after this.Also the cheap spares available.
3.There is not much to look into number of owners if it a well maintained Maruti.
My experience so far:
1.Driven over 6000 Km since I got the car.
2.Since this is a non k-series engine:
Mileage: In city:11.5 to 12(30% AC)/
Highway with a/c:14.5 km/l
Highway without ac:16.5 to 17 km/l
3.Very supportive and comfy front seats.
4.Good space compared to WagonR/Alto or any car you would get at the price range.
5.Good AC
Negatives:
1.I had to change the discs once I got the car.(Pratham motors)
2.Bumpy rear seats.
Otherwise it is a beautiful used car which I have got no loan to pay for.(this wouldn’t have been the case if it were a new car.Service is excellent . Spare parts are real cheap in comparison to other brands. (I have seen people cry for spending 6 to 7 K a year for maintenance of a car-these kind of folks please excuse)
