Hi this Ravishankar, I’m from Chennai. I became the proud owner of Swift LDI from 1st week of Sept’2007. Before purchasing this beautiful car, i had spent almost 6 months searching a car which fulfill my requirement. I was looking a car with very good mileage, decent look, power & better service.
I will travel almost 60 kms per day, so I preferred to go with a Diesel car. Initially my choice was indica because its Value for money & reliable as Tata is pioneer in diesel engines.When I approached a showroom, the response from the sales person wasn’t good & even they had good offer my mind wasn’t satisfied.
I got a chance to drive a petrol version of swift VXI when my nephew came from B’lore it was a new car out of showroom, I was amazed when i went for a test drive. From that moment, in my mind there was no second thought , I had decided to go for a swift diesel. Next day I booked the Swift LDI model at ABT Guindy, off late I came to know that i booked at a wrong place as ABT sales persons were giving false promises like cash discount, free accessories etc.The car was promised to deliver in 3 months, however they delivered in 70 days which was only the good thing I found from them.
When comes to performance i’m getting 14.5 Kms in city with A/C on but I was promised for 17-18 Kms. Good looking interior & its very spacious, great pickup i’ll challenge to anyone its better than a petrol when it comes to pickup of its segment. My friend who is owning Fiesta(petrol) drove this car and told he its ultimate in pickup. the car has less engine noise & powerful A/C. Apart from the back leg space there is no issues with car, I’ll recommend this car to everyone those who like to go with a budget of 5 lakhs.
Few tips from my side- As soon as possible shift the car to 5th Gear recommended @ 45 kms, maintain tyre pressure 35psi(front) & 32 psi(rear) as recommened by the service masters. Maintain the speed between 60-80 on highways. Turn the engine off at signal if you have to wait for more than a minute.Check for wheel alignment for every 5000 kms. Focus on your drive have fun when you’re not on drive.
