Six months on and the SX4(ZXi) is still going great. My views may be slightly biased as my first two cars where Honda Civics.
Fuel efficiency: Not great at all, but you are buying a "less expensive"(not cheap) premium car. I havent yet calculated how many miles is does to the liter.
Seating Space: It is a comfortable drive for 4 people but it can fit in 5. The hump in the middle of the rear seat is uncomfortable for the 5th person. Also, the floor is not flat like that Civic. There is enough leg space for comfortable seating.
Boot Space: The boot is cavernous with loads of space which is sure to surprise you.
Steering: The steering wheel is very responsive to the slightest touch. This makes driving in heavy city traffic less taxing.
Seating position: The seats can be lowered or raised in the ZXi version and are very comfortable. Since you cant see the bonnet, do expect some scratches on the left side of the front bumper of the car if you regularly drive in heavy traffic.
Gear Box: Gear change is smooth but I often change from 2nd to 5th instead of 3rd - This may be because how I change gears or because they are too close to each other . The car accelerates quickly despite its bulk and touches 60 in 2nd gear. This is really useful when you are steering through heavy traffic and want to be quick to move when the lights turn green.
Servicing: The first free servicing after one month cost me a little less than Rs. 6000/-. This included Teflon coating and glass etching which I thought should have been done when the car was delivered. An oil change was also done. The second servicing was actually free.
Overall, its a very good car with great value for money. I would definitely recommend this car to new buyers or if you want to upgrade.
Hope this helps future buyers.
Cheers,
Claude Veigas
ps: Ill keep updating the review based on the comments.
In response to comments:
This Civic may be a luxury car in India but it is a basic car abroad.
This is my first review and I would like to thank everyone who provided constructive feedback.
This is my first car in India and I honestly had no idea about how servicing works in India and what was included or excluded. My previous 2 cars were not in India and the first servicing was only after 1 year from purchase.
This is how I choose to write my review and I choose to compare it with my previous Civics - whch were hatchback and not the luxury car that is available in India.
