After test driving a lot of cars including Sunny/Etios/Verna/xylo/safari/dezire/XUV in Mumbai peak traffic I counted out the first thing that I was planning to buy viz an SUV. The Xylo and Safari were repulsive in handling in Traffic, the SUV were very gross and one couldn’t enjoy in Mumbai traffic. XUV was good but it was expensive by couple of lacs. The sedans didn’t give the high seating that I was looking for and fell short on various parameters. SX4 came close to an SUV type feel with the reliability of Maruti.
I was but surprised that my new car had a very irritating rattling type vibratory noise from the hood which was very annoying to drive with. The test drive vehicle did not have this sound so I was taken a back.The first service was close at 1000 kms and the staff was very co operating to take the vehicle for first free service with a promise to get the noise sorted out.
Surprisingly, all the paid extra jobs that I had requested, like the engine waxing and sleeving were done very well. The car was handed over to me at around seven pm with signatures for service satisfaction taken on blank forms ( I signed because there wasn’t much to expect in first service and just one sound which I was sure would have been rectified). I was told that the bonnet alignment was done and small matter sorted out.
But the small matter is troubling me big time even now and is so irritating that it can drive the driver berserk !!!
