I have recently bought a new vxi model and let me tell you it was a good choice made after struggling to make a pick between other cars like verna, fiesta, linea or aveo.
Positives:
Firstly price: I had actually bothered almost all the dealers in hyd to get a good price and managed to get one at last for a total discount of 60k. Costed me 7.50 lacs on road to what they projected initially @8.08 lacs by all dealers. Every dealer gives you a good discount on different parameters like the customer discount, dealer discount, insurance discount, accessories discount, discount on dealer cut on the loan amount and corporate discount. However, i managed to get all the parameters with one dealer but had to run behind for almost a month to work it out and managed to do it just before the price rise after union budget 2010. Mind u i did not do any exchange to get this price.
Road presence - amazing on road presence, masculine looks, high ground clereance really stands tall when stalled beside other cars in its segment.
Mileage - its givin me 10.5kmpl with 100%a/c on, after the first service, which i feel is fairly good, after changing the 15" company rims to 16" alloys and increasing the tyre size to 205/65 r16 which is not the case in vxi variant.
Driving - comfortable drive, it gives a suv drive feel, sitting high above the road.
Definitely a low maintenance car since its maruti Suzuki.
Negatives
Blind spot - the right side front 2 pillars actually blocks a major portion of the view for front right and have to be really careful when taking a right turn or if you have vehicles coming from right side from a "t" junction. Theres nothing much you can do except lean front or back to get a clear view on the right side... This doesnt bother you as long as you are on a straight road.
Headlamps - not the best of lighting the lamps deliver for car of this stature.
