I test drove the SX4 and have the following observations -
The looks are really stunning, withe the headlamps that have an upward curve give the SX4 a great stance.
This car has really huge tires and an excellent ground clearance.
One of the most spacious car in this segment.
Unlike the traditional Maruti Suzuki cars, the SX4 has a very comfortable entry and exit. Thanks to the height of the seats and the wide doors.
Coming to the engine performance. I had really expected teh SX4 to do much better. I could not get enough power even at 7500 rpm.. and I am damn sure even an Ikon 1.3 or a corsa 1.3 can beat the SX4 quite easily.
I tried to get power in all the gears and none of the gears had enough torque to give the driver the thrust of acceleration.
I am really disappointed with the engine performance and I feel the reason for insufficient power is the big wheels and heavy weight that add a lot of resistance.
I hope Maruti / Suzuki comes up with a more powerful engine option may be a 2 L engine for the power thirsty.
