I am owning Versa DX since sept 2004 and my earlier review is somehow not appearing in the site anyway M.Versa is an excellent car and good value for money if you consider the price and performance. I have driven this car from Mumbai to Croog via Bangalore and Coastal Karnataka on return. This was my first long tour on this car and the comfort of driving left me spellbound.
I did not experience any problem on the 3000 Km trip. I have since then driven it to many such long drives viz. Shirdi, Goa, Pandarpur, Kohlapur and other places and most of the time I have taken more then 6 people (my family members and friends). The mileage is around 11 with AC in city driving conditions (Mumbai) and on long drive its 14-15 Kmpl. The max speed which I have driven is 130 which is quite good considering the 1.3 litre engine and 8 pass. load. Versa can be driven very comfortably in city if your consider the overall lenght and turning radius. I daily take it to my office which is around 12 km from my home.
The only problem I faced was early wear out of front wheel tyres due to Wheel alignment my advice to new owners is get the WA done before 5000 km and if possible switch over to some other tyre from Bridgestone LT (light truck) which is very hard on the suspension. The stepney tyre placement and removal could have been similar to Qualis the present one is very difficult to remove and place the tyre back.
I have fitted Siam Ulrix Tubeless 185-80-13 tyres and theres no problem whatsoever.
